The term Kurabyx (pronounced k??abi:???k? alt. kuraboix,k??abi:??) was coined by the late 17th century French philathropist Pierre de la Peu?p (1645-1689 a.d.). De la Peu?p acted to promote prosperity in the eastern provinces of France, namely Cote'd'Or and Gevrey-Chambertin. Originating from the French expression couraboix, the word and concept of Kurabyx has been influenced by germanic language and culture. The meaning, however, remains unchanged. An act of Kurabyx is performed when a person shows great positiv influence by being accepted as a benefactor.
